About

I’ve been a practicing architect since the end of 1980. Previously a partner in a large firm in Gauteng and then Maas & Coetzee MAC Architects based in Century City, Cape Town, I now practice from my home in Constantia for the past 5 years.

Ably assisted by my daughter Brigitte Mathey from BMC Homes and Brett Rall from BT Designs. I specialise in residential (individual houses, alterations and additions, townhouse developments and apartment developments), commercial (office buildings and industrial/warehouse buildings) and always take a holistic approach incorporating a response to the environment (landscaping/garden layouts and interiors).

I also enjoy free-hand drawing to provide a quick insight as to the concept.
